It’s Monday! What are you reading? – August 12

Hello, friends! I have been sorely lacking in my updates lately. Please forgive me. My life is a whirlwind, always. It’s Monday, so I thought I’d get back into the groove with a weekly meme. As hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date, here’s my very belated “It’s Monday! What are you reading?” post.

Note: When I started writing this, I didn’t realize how much I had read since my last update! I’ve decided to break it up into “unnecessarily long image gallery” and “what I am reading next.” I’ll try to be more on top of things soon!

The Rains – Gregg Hurwitz

I’m not a fan of gory, zombie thrillers, but I’m taking one for the team here! The premise is that anyone over 18 gets infected with a zombie-like virus. When the main protagonist is about to turn 18, is he able to find a way to stop getting the virus himself, or is it inevitable? I haven’t got much past the first few pages, but it seems to be told in a series of journal entries, very post-apocalyptic style. Kind of hoping that Hurwitz spares me the blood and guts, but maybe that’s something that will appeal to my student population!

So, tell me, friends, what have you read since my last update? What are you looking forward to reading next?
